All India Association of Arabic Teachers and Scholars go live

All India Association of Arabic Teachers and Scholars announced the launch of website during a ceremony held at Farogh-e-Urdu Bhawan, Jasola in New Delhi.

President of All India Association of Arabic Teachers and Scholars Prof. Mohammad Nauman Khan, HoD,
Arabic, University of Delhi delivered the welcome speech, in which he mentioned a brief background of Arabic Language in India and the concerns over it.

Also, he threw some light on the motives and objectives for foundation of the Association. While mentioning the activities of the Association, he revealed that Association is very much concerned about the removal of Arabic language from Civil Services Examination, and Association has taken up this issue with the government for re-including this important language of India which is according to 2001 census, the mother tongue of 51723 Indian citizens.

He also said that the Association is planning to open Arabic Learning Centers in the different localities of Delhi as of now, while the Association is also considering the proposal of dissemination of an electronic magazine in Arabic Language for the benefit of Arabic Language Students.

Prominent professor Padma Shri Akhtarul Wasey congratulated the office-bearers of the Association for forming an Association which will be a ‘Point of Contact’ in India for Arabic works and projects.
He agreed with others to use latest technology to expand the views and achievements of Association, while he strongly rejected to treat Arabic language as a classical language citing that this language has more than 422 million people who speak and understand it and it is the official language for more than 25 countries.
He also proposed a three day seminar on Arabic language with the collaboration of NCPUL; this proposal was welcomed by the audience with a big applause.

Dr. Syed Hasnain Akhtar of Allahabad University, general secretary of the Association, put forward the introduction of Association and its functionality along with future plans of the Association emphasizing on the filling the vacant posts of Arabic in various universities and colleges.
Since this function was meant for the website launch, the Joint Secretary of the Association Dr. Rizwanur Rahman of JNU discussed the important features of the website and how they work.

He referred to the functionality of the website which will provide every member a unique ID and passwords to login and get the important information like job opportunities, government schemes and contact details of other members. He also mentioned that this website would be a digital depository of Important Indian Arabic books and from this Arabic students and scholars will be benefitted.

He promised that the NCPUL will extend all kind of support to the Association, and would provide all digital books available to NCPUL to upload on Association’s website. He also termed the Association’s website as an ‘extraordinary move’ towards the Arabic language.

The vice president of Association, Professor Habibullah Khan of Jamia Millia Islamia offered the vote of thanks to all participants and guests and said we do respect your availability for the auspicious occasion of the launch of All India Association of Arabic Teachers and Scholars website, particularly the media person who bore all the difficulties to come here and cover this program.

In this function of website launch, a large number of Arabic Teachers and Scholars gathered from various colleges and universities including Jamia Millia Islamia, Jawahalal Nehru University, University of Delhi, University of Allahabad, Aligarh Muslim University, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri and Zakir Husain College, New Delhi.
