Lexus sales up 26% in H1 2013 in the Gulf region

Lexus IS 350Lexus reported a steady increase in sales in the Gulf region with a +26% rise in the first half of 2013 as compared to the same period in 2012. With sales of 17,724 units, Lexus continues to make inroads into the luxury segment with significant increase in sales as a result of its focus on leading edge innovation and design in line with its new brand philosophy.

“The consistent growth in Lexus sales is validation of our success in offering our customers a great customer experience driven by the new brand philosophy which has led to a range of contemporary and elegant designs that is now the hallmark of all Lexus models in addition to their superlative on-road performance. Moreover, our efforts in pushing the boundaries of technology, craftsmanship and customer care are also a big reason for our leadership in the luxury segment,” Nobuyuki Negishi, Chief Representative of Middle East and North Africa Representative Office, Toyota Motor Corporation said.

The Lexus sedan range did exceptionally well in the first half of 2013. The Lexus LS made its mark on luxury car buyers in the region with an impressive +152% growth in sales with 1,176 units. With a total of 3,000 improvements, the LS are the most refined Lexus saloon ever built. Inside, it has the world’s widest multimedia display, pioneering air conditioning and Advanced Pre-Crash technology. Incredibly comfortable and enjoyable to drive, and available as an F SPORT and Hybrid model, the LS had made a huge impact on luxury car buyers.

Sales of the ES range rose by +100% with 4,739 units sold as customers in the region appreciated the ES for its luxurious on-road experience with its L-Finesse inspired bold style, dynamic and responsive handling in addition to an advanced and beautifully refined interior.

In the SUV category, the Lexus LX570 sales grew by +8 % during this period with 7,894 units. With its muscular presence, stylish body lines and new spindle grille, the LX 570 looks like no other four wheel drive. Its exterior features, including high performance alloy wheels, are designed to make driving and travelling an absolute pleasure. The interior of the LX 570 has all the comforts of home. Up to eight adults can travel in style, surrounded by advanced instrumentation, luxurious appointments and intelligent technologies.

Lexus recently also introduced the all-new Lexus IS model range in the region to demonstrate a fresh direction for Lexus sedans, emphasizing “emotional” design and improved performance that delivers real pleasure at the wheel in all driving scenarios, not to mention the perks of the most advanced technologies and the thrill of F Sport. With its contemporary and elegant design, advanced driving dynamics and innovative technology, the new IS range marks the entry of a distinctive and premium sports sedan to provide a truly responsive vehicle which is a natural extension of its driver.
