His Royal Highness lauded the achievements of Bahrain, noting its economic strengths, particularly in the trade and industry sectors, which have the potential for yet further development. He added that it is important to develop these existing strengths to enhance the economic building blocks and maintain the regional and international status of Bahrain within these sectors.
His Royal Highness added that it is essential to accurately monitor and analyse trade and economic indices in order to effectively utilise the information and analysis gathered to inform government policies, and subsequently improve conditions and manage challenges effectively.
Regulatory frameworks have previously provided an incentive for investors, both within and outside Bahrain, and provided a driving force across all sectors. Therefore it is important to continue to regularly upgrade these frameworks, particularly with regards to the laws and procedures for the registration of companies, and to carry these out in a timely manner.
His Royal Highness further emphasised the importance of ensuring the speedy implementation of e-Investor, the e-registration project. During his visit, His Royal Highness met staff within the ministry and recognised the efforts by all staff in providing information and support to those within the trade and industry sectors. He urged them to stay on top of new developments in order to continue to provide high quality, specialist services.
His Royal Highness also discussed the work to provide further land for industrial projects, along with the infrastructure and services required for these projects. He also noted that it was important to work on establishing such projects in areas far from residential areas.
His Royal Highness added that providing a suitable environment for industrial investment contributes to boosting the status of Bahrain as a destination for investment.
His Royal Highness also discussed the importance of the exhibition industry, which plays a large role in the economy, and which therefore requires continued support and upgrading of the required infrastructure.
Dr Fakhro thanked His Royal Highness for the visit and noted the value of his directives in the planning and implementation of programmes within the ministry, and their role in ensuring the standards required in the industrial and trade sectors are achieved.
