Various political societies which organised a rally on Friday are facing legal action for unlawful protests, vandalism, and sabotage including causing damage to public and private properties.
The General Director of Northern Governorate Police announced that the rally organized by several political societies on Friday evening from Shakhoora roundabout to Deraz roundabout on Budaiya road and which was endorsed by the Ministry of Interior had participation of around 12,000 individuals.
The event witnessed violence and vandalism in addition to various other disturbances. In one case, a group of people diverted from the rally’s established route and moved toward Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman road. Police responded in order to disperse the group and restore order in accordance with the law.
The General Director said that the Northern Governorate Police summoned the organizing committee and legal procedures will be taken.
