The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco)’s Public Relations Department, in cooperation with the Sports Committee has announced the kick start of Bapco’s Interdepartmental Football Tournament 2013/2014 under the patronage of Bapco’s Chairman Acting Chief Executive, Adel Khalil Al Moayyed. The tournament was commenced at the football pitch in Awali in presence of Adel Khalil Al Moayyed Bapco’s Chairman Acting Chief Executive, Ghassan Al Muhana General Manager Human Resources and Administration, Abdul Rahim Fakhro Acting General Manager Finance and IT, number of Bapco’s officials, employees and participants. During the opening ceremony, Al Muhanna welcomed the attendees and thanked the Sports Committee and organizers of the tournament, lauding their dedicated efforts in developing football in Bapco.
He underlined Bapco’s continuous dedication to sports, out of its belief in the importance of sports in promoting the physical fitness and health of employees. He said sports assume a key role in the development of individuals and nations, which has urged Bapco to devote constant attention and support to sports activities. The tournament this year witnessed a participation of eight football teams to compete on the Cup and the football matches are held every week on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
