Public Prosecution
Prosecutor Mohammed Al Malki, the Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Capital Governorate announced that Public Prosecution had received a communication on 25/10/2013 from the Directorate General for Investigations and Forensic Evidences saying that an Arab newcomer was stabbed in his chest in Al-Juffair area.

The Prosecutor also said that the victim was transported to one of the private hospitals in that area, where attempts to recover him failed, for he was dead.

The investigations stated that the accused were of the same nationality of the victim, and they had a dispute over a financial squabble led to indebtedness owed by the victim for one of them as a brokerage of a commission for renting an apartment for the victim.

The investigations also stated that before the incident the victim and the others exchanged insults through the telephone, which prompted the defendants to monitor the victim and search for him in the residential area, preparing for that a knife and a big stick to attack him.

The investigations stated that the defendants attacked the victim on the evening of 24/10/2013, and the first defendant stabbed him in the left side upper the chest, which led to his death.

The investigations stated that a third friend for the defendants provided them with the tools to attack the victim, but was not present with them.

Upon receiving the communication, Public Security carried out the necessary inspection of the crime scene, and superficially checked his body, and ordered to call the forensic doctor to examine the body of the victim, to see if there were any injuries or wounds and called on knowing the date of those injuries, and how they happened.

Public Prosecution ordered to speed the arrest of the defendants, where they confessed of committing the incident, saying that the first defendant was the one to stab the victim in the chest with a knife in his hands, in presence of the second defendant who beat the victim, and later escaped from the scene of the crime.

Meanwhile, the defendant got rid of the knife by throwing it in the waters of the Gulf near “Dohat Arad” but the third defendant denied knowing about the other defendants’ intentions, where they themselves stole a hockey stick from his car without his consent.

On the other hand, Public Prosecution ordered to imprison the first and second defendants upon the pending investigation, and release the third defendant by ensuring his place of residence with prohibiting him from travelling.

Public Prosecution also sent samples collected from the crime scene to the lab to be tested and prepare a report on them, and called on the incident’s witnesses to hear their testimonies, as well as dumping the contents of the cell phones for the defendants.

In the meantime, investigations are underway into the incident in preparation of presenting the defendants to the criminal trial as soon as they are finished.
