HM the King was welcomed on arrival by UAE Deputy President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and UAE Armed Forces Deputy Supreme Commander General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Dubai Crown Prince Shaikh Hemdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority(DCAA) Chairman, Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group and head of the Dubai Airshow 2013 high organizing committee Shaikh Ahmed bin Said Al-Maktoum, Lieutenant General Misbah bin Rashid Al Fattan, Director of the Office of the UAE Vice-President and other senior officials.
HM King Hamad and Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum discussed key issues of mutual interest and regional developments. HM the King, UAE Deputy President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and UAE Armed Forces Deputy Supreme Commander General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, senior officials, VIP guests and participants then attended the aerobatics demonstration which was staged by the team of the United Arab Emirates Air Force (Al-Fursan).
HM the King then attended the lunch banquet, which was hosted by UAE Deputy President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum in honour of Dubai International Airshow-2013 guests and participants. He was then seen off by Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum and other senior UAE officials.
HM the King expressed his delight at attending the inauguration of the Dubai International Airshow-2013. He extended thanks to UAE President Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, UAE Deputy President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and UAE Armed Forces Deputy Supreme Commander General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan and congratulated them on the success of the 13th Dubai International Airshow.
He commended the landmark organisation and massive participation in the exhibition, which attracted leading international aircraft civil and military companies. He commended the efforts of the Dubai Government for its efforts to organise the airshow and ensure its landmark success.
He congratulated Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum on holding the show at Al-Maktoum International Airport ( aerotropolis) – for the first time ever since its inception. HM the King seized the occasion to express deepest gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for supporting Bahrain, hailing deep-rooted historic relations.
“Bahrain is looking forward to the participation of leading civil and military aircraft companies and exhibitors at the forthcoming 3rd Bahrain International Airshow- scheduled to be held in January 2014”, he said, wishing all success.
