Jewellery Arabia 2013 opens under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre on Tuesday 19 November 2013.

The 22nd exhibition in this prestigious annual series runs until Saturday 23 November 2013 and is set to welcome a total of 600 companies from 30 nations. On sale will be the largest display of finished jewellery, luxury timepieces, precious stones, antiques and objets d’art in the Middle East.

The five-day show will feature a number of new and exciting multi-national high-end participants. Jewellery Arabia 2013 will also witness the first official group participation of companies from the United Kingdom, coordinated by British Allied Trades Federation (BATF), and Singapore, coordinated by the Singapore Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME).

Large national groups from Brazil, Hong Kong, India and Malaysia are set to return and will exhibit alongside eminent international jewellery and watch brands, many of whom will use the exhibition as a platform to introduce exclusive collections and limited edition pieces to the Middle East collector’s market. A selection of the Middle East’s finest retailers and manufacturers, including a strong contingent from Bahrain, compliments this line up.

“Jewellery Arabia 2013 is a leading showcase for high profile designers and retailers, major brands and quality designs in the Middle East. Visitors can look forward to exclusive previews, inspiring trends, one-of-a-kind design pieces and the opportunity to purchase from a wide choice of the finest jewellery from across the globe,” Arabian Exhibition Management’s Director of Sales and Marketing Fawzi Al Shehabi, said.

As part of its mission to educate the public on gems and jewellery, the world’s foremost authority on gemology, the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) will conduct complimentary seminars at Jewellery Arabia 2013.

Experienced GIA instructors will provide visitors with information on different facets of gems and jewellery. Topics include diamonds, coloured stones, pearls, how to read GIA grading reports and tips when purchasing jewellery.

“As the world’s foremost authority in gems and jewellery education, we are pleased to be working with Jewellery Arabia to conduct sessions for the show’s exhibitors and visitors,” Nirupa Bhatt, Managing Director of GIA in India and the Middle East, said.

“Given the Gulf’s rich heritage of diamonds, pearls and coloured stones, the informational seminars will help the trade and consumers make more informed purchases.”

Jewellery Arabia will open from 16.00 to 22.00 on Tuesday 19 November to Friday 22 November 2013. On Saturday 23 November 2013 the exhibition will open from 12.00 to 22.00. Admission is free of charge.

For the ninth successive year, the Middle East Premier Awards for Watches, Jewellery and Pens will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Bahrain on 19 November 2013.

Hosted by MPP ME, publishers of the industry magazine title Arabian Watches and Jewellery (AWJ), the Awards are the culmination of an online public voting system and the analysis of an elite committee comprising of watch, jewellery and pen experts.
