Cabinet eases naturalisation for kids of Bahraini women

The Cabinet on Sunday approved the granting of Bahraini citizenship to the children of Bahraini women married to foreigners meeting specific conditions. The Cabinet referred the draft law amending some provisions of the law of Bahraini citizenship (1963) to the legislative authority in accordance with the constitutional procedures, and in line with the recommendations of the Human Rights Council that is consistent with the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the directions of the Supreme Council for Women.
