January 22, 2014

Airbus A380-800 onboard loungeUNITED ARAB EMIRATES: Emirates, a global connector of people and places, will serve its Moscow route with a double daily A380 service from 1st August this year.

This second A380, which will operate as flight EK133/134, replaces the existing Boeing 777 operation and increases seat capacity on the route by 15%.

“Since launching services between Dubai and Moscow on 1st July 2003, we have received a very positive response from Russian customers and trade partners to the Emirates product. Our Moscow service continues to grow in popularity, especially since the introduction of the first A380 on this route in December 2012. This second aircraft upgrade will help us meet the ever increasing demand, giving many more travellers the chance to experience our flagship A380 aircraft and all its comforts and features,” Thierry Antinori, Emirates‘ Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, said.

“Operating Moscow-Dubai now as a full A380 route reflects the strength of our commitment to this strategic market and opens up a wealth of choice for passengers travelling from Domodedovo to visit or re-visit Dubai, where Russian visitors are always very welcome. Connecting through our efficient Dubai hub, more than a dozen Emirates destinations in the Far East, Australia and the Indian Ocean Islands including rich variety of cities like Bangkok, Singapore, Sydney and Mauritius can be reached enjoying the A380 experience all the way,” he added.

“This new milestone promotes Domodedovo airport to the ‘premiere league’ of the world’s airports, one of just a few offering Emirates’ service entirely using A380 aircraft. The airport is prepared backed by our ground infrastructure as well as equipment and staff are ready and set to provide the highest product and service,” Igor Borisov, Director, Moscow Domodedovo Airport, said.

Across its two decks, Emirates’ A380 will offer 399 seats in Economy Class, 76 lie-flat seats in Business Class and 14 luxury First Class Private Suites. Passengers travelling in First Class can freshen up in one of two on-board Shower Spas before joining fellow premium class travellers in the On-Board Lounge where they can enjoy complimentary beverages and canapés.

Passengers across all cabins can enjoy up to 1,600 channels of entertainment featuring the latest movies, TV shows and music from around the world alongside a range of games on the award-winning ice inflight entertainment system. They can also stay connected throughout the flight with high-speed Wi-Fi access and mobile phone and data services.

Passengers travelling on all Emirates flights benefit from a generous baggage allowance of 30kg in Economy Class, 40kg in Business Class and 50 kg in First Class.

The upgraded A380 service leaves Dubai as EK133 at 0935hrs, arriving at Domodedovo Airport at 1445hrs. It returns as EK134 leaving Moscow at 1755hrs landing at Dubai International Airport at 2255hrs.
