He said the camping season enjoys a special care from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa who paid a visit recently to the camping sites. He lauded the directives of Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to organise a weekly prize for the best camp that meets well-defined criteria set up on the basis of transparency and equal opportunities for all campers.
He praised Shaikh Nasser’s keenness to support the youth and campers, pointing out that the award was organised in previous years but this year there will be certain criteria to ensure transparency and equal opportunities.
Shaikh Abdullah revealed that the Southern Governorate had set up a committee headed by Deputy Governor Faisal bin Rashid Al Nuaimi to choose the best camp every week according to the set up criteria.
He added that the Supreme Camping Season Committee had set up many regulations for this year to ensure safety of the campers. He also thanked the mass media, describing them as an essential element for the success of the award.
The winning camp every week will be awarded a cash prize of BD 1000 while at the end of the camping season; six camps occupying the second place will receive cash prizes of BD 500.
