This came as His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at the Gudaibiya Palace, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister greeted and offered his sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander and to all military and civilians of the Bahrain Defence Force on the 46th anniversary of founding the Bahrain Defence Force.
The Cabinet praised the role of the Bahrain Defence Force and its contribution in the development of Bahrain through protecting the countries’ civil and democratic achievements.
The Cabinet reviewed a number of proposed programs for the implementation of the intellectual, artistic and cultural achievements to mark the occasion of selecting Manama as an Asian tourist capital for the year of 2014. The Cabinet instructed the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs to study this matter.
The Cabinet approved a number of suggestions by the Minister of State for Follow-up regarding a closer cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Morocco in the areas of civil service, administrative reform, e-government and training.
The Cabinet approved the following four suggestions from the House of Representatives: (1) opening an Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Republic of Brazil; (2) creating a public park in Sanad; (3) increasing the number of medical and nursing staff for children with diabetes; and (4) regarding working hours in the Electricity and Water Authority.
