HRH Premier orders to resolve truck congestion at Causeway

MANAMA: His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on Monday issued directives to the concerned authorities to ease congestion at the King Fahad Causeway.

HRH Premier was listening to BCCI Board members’ who referred truck congestion at the King Fahad Causeway as a major issue and their proposals on ways to solve the problem once for all, as well as regarding easing entry and exit procedures at causeway.

HRH Premier urged the relevant sides to determine the real causes of the truck congestion problem in order to solve it, affirming the government’s desire to coordinate with traders in all decisions related to this issue, and support for BCCI’s coordination with the Customs Affairs and all the concerned sides in Saudi Arabia in this regard.

HRH Premier also listened to small traders’ concerns and needs regarding labour fees, and expressed the government’s keenness on supporting owners of small and medium-sized enterprises in order to enable them to contribute to the national economy.

He assured the audience that Bahrain will remain, as it has always been, an oasis of security and safety, and a fortified against division and interference in its internal affairs.

BCCI members welcomed HRH Premier’s visit, noting that it has confirmed his approach of direct and constructive dialogue, open doors policy and keenness to interact with all economic sides.

They added that the visit reflects HRH Premier’s constant support for BCCI, in particular, and the trade and industrial sectors, in general.

They said that the meeting with HRH Premier provided an opportunity to engage in a positive and constructive dialogue on a number of issues related to the kingdom’s private sector, the national development march and ways to boost investors’ confidence in the kingdom’s investment atmosphere and upgrade BCCI’s performance in this regard.

BCCI Chairman Khalid Al-Moayyad said BCCI members and affiliates value highly HRH Premier’s confidence in the ability of the private sector to spur the national economy.

He lauded HRH Premier’s constant keenness on interacting with BCCI in order to be informed about its visions and desire to remove all obstacles facing the trade and economic development in the country.

He hailed the Premier’s directives to provide all facilities that enhance local and foreign investors’ confidence in the kingdom’s investment atmosphere.

BCCI Chief thanked and appreciated the HRH Premier for his continuous support for the national economy, noting that the Premier’s constant follow-up of all issues related to the trade sector in the kingdom reflects his desire to put in place a positive economic atmosphere that attracts local and foreign investors.
