MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in Sukhair Palace, held talks with grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb Sherif, on the sidelines of the Dialogue among Civilizations and Cultures Conference which concluded on Wednesday in Manama.
HM the King commended Al-Azhar leading role supporting Arab and Islamic issues and in maintaining Muslims ideological fabric.
HM the King highlighted Bahrain’s keenness to bolster cooperation with Al-Azhar in all areas to promote Islam and Muslims in scientific, religious and educational fields.
HM the King hailed Al-Azhar Grand Imam’s supportive stances toward the Kingdom of Bahrain and contributions to enrich the Arab and Islamic Library with researches and studies, as well as his invitations to disseminate Islamic principles and adopting dialogue and cooperation approaches in addressing disputed issues.
The parties discussed Islamic issues and underscored coordination among Arab and Islamic countries to achieve solidarity and confront challenges.
Al-Azhar Grand Imam praised HM the King’s solid stances on Arab and Islamic issues.
