Tamkeen also highlighted the mechanism and objectives of the revamped Enterprise Support programme, which was re-designed to make it more flexible, transparent, measurable, and efficient, and to motivate business owners to adopt modern management concepts and practices, in addition to stimulating enterprises to develop and achieve objectives that contribute to business growth that ultimately develops of the national economy.

Through the programme, enterprises will receive tailored business support solutions in one streamlined package according to their plans and needs, while linking the type and support amount with the enterprises’ current status, future plans, and its success in achieving its outlined KPIs.

Among the major enhancements made to the programme is an online portal for application and tracking, along with many other convenient features.

To date, the Enterprise Support programme has served over 9,100 enterprises, with the support amount reaching in excess of BD 78.2 million.

Chairman of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al Moayed commended Tamkeen and BCCI on their collaboration, and hailed Tamkeen for their effort in supporting the private sector in the kingdom, particularly the support directed to entrepreneurs and small and medium sized enterprises, which comprise the main beneficiary of Tamkeen’s programmes.

“The chamber’s board is keen on mulling ways to enable the private sector to fully benefit from the programmes and plans offered by Tamkeen, and hence improve their productivity and profitability, and open the horizons for them to grow and expand,” Al Moayed, added.

It is worth mentioning that the meeting also deliberated about the draft of Tamkeen’s Strategy for the period 2015-2017, where BCCI board members praised the strategic goals set by Tamkeen, and their prospect in accelerating the growth and development of Bahrain’s economy.
