MANAMA: The General Director of King Fahad Causeway announced on Sunday the arrest of an individual who came from Iraq and was attempting to smuggle bomb-making materials into Bahrain.
The identification occurred as part of the crime prevention and interdiction efforts at the border in cooperation with Customs Affairs. The General Director said that while normal security procedures were being carried out for the bus, one of the passengers was revealed to be a wanted fugitive on another criminal case. During a search of the bus, customs personnel found bomb-making materials.
The General Director said the materials were seized, legal procedures were taken and the Public Prosecution was notified. Anyone with any information is asked to call the police hotline at 80008008. All calls are treated as anonymous.
