DUBAI: Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty (AGCS) has appointed Willem van Wyk as Chief Executive Officer for Dubai. He will report to Carsten Scheffel, Member of the Board of Management and Chief Regions and Markets Officer.
Willem van Wyk has more than 25 year’s insurance experience; he started his career at AGCS as the Head of Market Management Australia in May 2008. Before that, he was Head of Business Development for a global broker in Dubai and Regional Manager for an insurer in South Africa.
He will lead the insurer’s Dubai office, which brings together AGCS’s expertise including Property, Liability, Financial Lines, Engineering, Energy and Marine. The MENA Region is a significant strategic segment for AGCS. The company plans continued growth, in line with its strategy of global diversification.
