Abu Dhabi: Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, Head of the UAE Committee for Coordination of Humanitarian Foreign Aid, praised the launch of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, thanking His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid for blessing the Middle East Developmental Dialogue Initiative, which aims at overcoming developmental challenges in the region. The blessing, Her Excellency noted, reaffirms the UAE’s role in supporting global developmental aspirations, especially in the Middle East region.
“The UAE’s wise leadership, represented by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has become instrumental in supporting global development, and helping people of the world achieve their aspirations for a better quality of life. The UAE has also become a leader in international relief aid, crowned as the most giving country compared to national income both in 2013 and 2014,” Sheikha Lubna said.
Sheikha Lubna noted that present developmental issues are complex and interrelated, with strong links to various past accumulations. This fact, HE continued, has created a challenge that necessitates working on various fronts, especially in terms of enriching cognitive skills and exploiting experiences and discussions in the field, in order to assure success of developmental plans.
“The pioneering role played by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives comes in line with the UAE’s leading position on the global developmental and relief stage, which proves once more that the changes achieved by the country under its wise leadership has now extended to reach the whole Middle East, a region that suffers from various developmental obstacles compared to other regions in the world,” HE said.
“While heading a brain storming session for the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives’ teams two days ago, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reaffirmed the important role of technology, and discussed institutional frameworks for enhancing response towards developmental challenges, reflecting the vision His Highness has, and the great intellect he puts into programs and initiatives launched by the UAE.”
