Manama: Mr. Soufiane ElAllam, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain was awarded “The Arab Leader of the Year” at the 8th annual Tourism Media Awards ceremony held in Dubai.
The award was well-attended by key Arab tourism officials from 22 countries in a special ceremony during the Arabian Tourism Market exhibition week. Mr. El Allam was presented with the Arab Leader of the Year Award for his leadership drive that commends excellence in tourism that demonstrates superior practices and performance.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. El Allam touched on the importance of the tourism sector across the Arab countries and highlighted key collaborative initiatives that increase the industry growth and continues to yield increase in market share.
The award also paid tribute to the Moroccan Ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Hassan Haddad, in recognition of his experience and his efforts for the development of Arab and local tourism with a personal Tourism Year award.
Mr. Soufiane El Allam, a Moroccan citizen, holds the Director of Sales and Marketing position at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain for three years. Prior to that, he served as Executive Director of Sales at Atlantis, Dubai. He holds university degrees in strategy and administration from Cornell University and the School of Hotel Administration in Ithaca, United States. He is also a graduate from the Institute of International Tourism in Morocco – the leader of the international hotel management College in North Africa.
