MANAMA: HE Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, inaugurated the first art festival titled “Art City”, which is being held at the City Center Complex throughout April.
The event is jointly organized by CAD World Art and Bahrain Art Gallery and arts pieces such as plastic paintings from Bahrain and international countries and a review of the aesthetics of Arabic calligraphy and art of photography and sculpture, where the number of works of art participation to 1000 works of art with the participation of 100 artists from 10 countries.
HE said that the promotion of the Capital Governorate for art exhibitions contributes to the field of artistic investment and the exchange of experiences, skills and innovations, in addition to encouraging partnership with international expertise houses to develop the experience of Bahrain in the field of art and creativity as one of the most useful tools in the development of human capacities and freedom of thought and depth of reflection and accuracy.
He pointed out that such exhibitions help to further polish the local talent and noted the important role played by such exhibitions in promoting the capital of Manama for hosting a prominent center in the world for hosting multi cultures. He expressed his wishes for success and success for the exhibitors.
Engineer Mahdi Al-Jallawi, Director and Exhibition Supervisor, stressed the importance of these types of events in the development of the artistic arena and the promotion of the artistic movement. He expressed his thanks for the support of His Excellency the Governor for the festival as well as the support of City Center for technical programmes and artists.
