Leading pharmaceutical businesses applaud the Arab Health Authorities Conference, Expo

Leading players in pharmaceutical market have applauded for hosting the first Arab Health Authorities Conference and Exhibition in Bahrain.

The event concluded with a high note and the leading exhibitors termed it an enormous success in terms of quality of exhibitors and Arab regulators deliberations during deliberations with the delegations.

The two-day event Forum and coincided exhibition held at the Gulf Hotel and under the patronage of Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), who also inaugurated the event alongside the Minister of Health Bahrain.

“We have two categories of products range for babies and adults, and we have mouth spray and vitamins range, and we are suppliers to both public and private health services providers being the biggest pharmacy in the Kingdom,” Amith S Karkada, Supervisor Pharma Division at Wael Pharmacy Co WLL told The24X7News Bahrain (www.twentyfoursevennews.com).

“I am distributor, wholesaler and retailer and we started the business and have been in the market for the past four decades. My company represents also 30 companies or global pharmaceutical brands and have 32 outlets across the Kingdom and grew from one pharmacy in 1985 to over thirty today,” S Ahmed Al Alawi, Chairman, Hamad Town, Pharmacy Group, on the sidelines of the event told The24X7News Bahrain (www.twentyfoursevennews.com).

“The Bahrain regulations do not allow more than five branches of any pharmacy, but we have thirty outlets in our brand’s umbrella. We are happy to sponsor and participate in this event. We have leading global brands, and we remain committed to the highest level of service in our specialized area of business,” he added.

 Dr. Jalila bint attended the event Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, alongside senior officials, and health authority leaders from GCC and other Arab nations.

Organized by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) in cooperation with SM Conference Organizer’s on Wednesday and Thursday also featured participation of the leading private health providers including Al Hilal and Kims hospitals. The top exhibitors consist of the main importers and suppliers of health products, medicines, and related products across the Kingdom. The main exhibitors include Hamad Town Pharmacy Group; Wael Pharmacy Co WLL; Yousuf Mahmood Group; and Gulf Pharmacies WLL, who together roughly cover 90 per cent of the Kingdom’s pharmaceutical supply chain with thousands of products on their supply list of the private and public health sector providers.

Following the opening, Dr. Shaikh Mohammed emphasized Bahrain’s efforts, guided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, to strengthen and develop the healthcare sector.

He highlighted the Kingdom’s focus on delivering the best healthcare services to the community, as part of its broader vision for a modern and integrated healthcare system.

He also noted that hosting this forum, following Bahrain’s recent hosting of the 33rd Arab Summit, underscores the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing cooperation between Arab nations, particularly in critical areas such as healthcare and development.

Speaking at the opening of the forum, the SCH Chairman said that the event aims to improve healthcare regulation by addressing shared challenges faced by Arab countries and exploring region-specific solutions.

He added that discussions will focus on healthcare policies that can enhance health outcomes and systems across the Arab world, while fostering the exchange of knowledge and expertise to strengthen healthcare services in the GCC and Arab region.
