Manama: Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), the leading provider of innovative Islamic financial solutions for simplifying money matters in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has entered a strategic partnership with Conserving Bounties, a non-profit organisation dedicated to collecting surplus food and redistributing it to underserved families, expatriate workers, and individuals across Bahrain.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to strengthen national efforts to combat food poverty, reduce waste, and promote conscious production and consumption. By ensuring fair and responsible redistribution of surplus food to vulnerable communities, it contributes to the attainment of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger. Both organisations will also work on raising public awareness about the importance of food preservation. BisB’s volunteer team ‘Jood’ will actively help Conserving Bounties by participating in food distribution and providing administrative and logistical assistance.

Through BisB’s volunteer team Jood, we aim to play our part in creating a culture of mindful consumption and usher in positive social impact,” Fatema AlAlawi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of BisB, said.
