His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held talks with the Jordanian Monarch King Abdullah II at Rowdha Palace in the presence of His Royal Highness the Premier Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
At the outset of the talks both monarchs exchanged greetings on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan wishing the people of the two countries, the Arab and Islamic Nation greater prosperity.
The Jordanian Monarch congratulated His Majesty on the marriage of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa wishing him continued happiness.
He also congratulated His Majesty on the success of the National Dialogue, recommendations that were achieved from the dialogue that in turn would reinforce the progress of development and reform in the Kingdom of Bahrain led by His Majesty the King.
His Majesty the King welcomed and affirmed the full support of the Kingdom of Bahrain for Jordan’s membership in the GCC council and towards the speedy procedures for the membership of the Jordan to take part in the advancement of the council to achieve the aspirations of all GCC people.
During the meeting both monarch reviewed the historic ties and brotherly relations existing between the two friendly countries. Moreover, both monarchs affirmed their keenness towards reinforcing bilateral cooperation to achieve the interests of both countries and their people.
Both sides also discussed the recent developments on the regional level affirming the continuation of coordination and cooperation in serving Arab issues.
His Majesty affirmed the importance of reinforcing Arab joint unity to overcome challenges and towards maintain security and stability in the region. He also praised the efforts exerted by the Jordanian monarch towards reinforcing Arab unity.
His Majesty had held an Iftar banquet in honour of the Jordanian monarch attended by HRH the Premier, HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, Jordanian Monarch’s accompanying delegation, members of the Royal family and senior officials.
Earlier, HM King Hamad received the Jordanian Monarch King Abdullah II upon his arrival at Sakhir Airbase in the presence of His Royal Highness the Premier Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
King Abdullah is being accompanied by Prince Faisal bin Al Hassan and Prince Hashim bin Al Hassan along with a delegation comprising President of the Royal Court Dr Khalid Al Karki, the Jordanian Monarch’s advisor Al Shareef Fawaz bin bin Zibin bin Abdullah, Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Jowdah and senior officials.
