Under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the Council of Trustees to the Royal Charity Organization, Zain Bahrain this year will distribute more than 20,000 schoolbags to deserving school students in time for the new academic year 2011-2012 in September this year.

Zain Bahrain’s Chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali Al Khalifa thanked His Highness Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for extending his patronage to the company’s education-focused project, as his support lends depth to a key component of our Corporate Social Responsibility Programme titled ‘the empowering of youth through education.’

“The Back-to-School project is one of the very first community projects adopted by Zain Bahrain since 2004 and we are sure that His Highness Shaikh Nasser’s patronage will encourage youngsters associated with the project to do their best academically and utilize their talent to serve the Kingdom,” Shaikh Ahmed said.

The focus of the programme of Zain Bahrain’s youth-centric CSR initiatives which emphasize education and sport, the Back-to-School project is one of the very first community projects adopted by Zain Bahrain. It underscores Zain Bahrain’s commitment to youth empowerment through education.

This year, the presentation was held at L’Hotel in Seef District and representatives of Charity Organizations across the Kingdom of Bahrain received letters which will be exchanged for the schoolbags that will be distributed to the students.

“The program underscores our belief in the power of education to change lives. Since its inception in 2003, Zain Bahrain has been supporting youth development, educational and social initiatives and will always contribute to the nation’s ongoing attempts to strengthen the country’s position amongst leading nations,” Zain Bahrain’s General Manager, Mohammed Zainalabedin, said.

“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all our students and assure them that at Zain Bahrain, our corporate social responsibility entails us to support the educational system and work in partnership with them to ensure our messages come across to today’s youth. We are keen on serving the local community by cooperating and coordinating with the various Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations to help create the right atmosphere and proper tools our youth need to achieve their goals,” said Zain Bahrain’s Corporate Communications Manager, Samya Hussain.
