His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa underscored Bahrain’s keenness to protect human rights and ensure security and stability for all citizens. He was speaking as he received at the UN headquarters on Wednesday UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay.
He stressed the Kingdom’s commitment to all international human rights laws and conventions pointing out those protecting human rights are a top priority as they constitute a main part of the Bahraini culture and Islamic faith.
He also praised the efforts made by the High Commissioner for Human Rights in defining human rights and promoting them worldwide.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights lauded steps taken by Bahrain to foster human rights and protect people’s interests.
