As part of a national strategy adopted by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) to empower Bahraini women, ensure equal opportunities for them and prompt them to take the initiative to boost their role as full partners in all sectors of the national economy, SCW will launch the project of “Empowering Women in the Media and Telecommunications Industry” next Sunday at the University of Bahrain (UoB).
The project is being carried out by SCW in cooperation with the Arab Gulf programme for United Nations Development Organizations (AGFUND) and UoB. The programme aims to train a number of female jobseekers in professions related to the media industry.
It also seeks to boost Bahraini women’s participation in this vital field. By training 15 women, the scheme is expected to cut down the number of women looking for jobs in the media and telecommunications industry and hone professional potentials.
