In a business meeting, Burnsville’s Mayor Elizabeth Kautz highlighted the importance of such meetings to widen cooperation between the private sector companies in both countries.
She said it is important to maximize the benefits from the economic policies in favour of joint projects and trade exchange between Minneapolis-St. Paul in Minnesota and the Kingdom of Bahrain In his speech, Shaikh Mohmmed bin Essa Al-Khalifa, the Chief Executive of the EDB, shed light on the recent developments in Bahrain and the region. He encouraged investors from Minneapolis-St. Paul to invest in Bahrain and benefit from the advantages provided by its economy as well as its proximity to the Gulf Arab states markets.
The first day in the visit to Minnesota also included several meetings between the members of the delegation and their counterparts from Minneapolis-St. Paul to examine the investment opportunities and potential joint cooperation in sectors such as food, industry and aviation. On the sidelines of the visit, Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa and Ambassador Houda Nonoo met with senior journalists from the Star Tribune in a meeting that focused on the recent developments in Bahrain and the actions taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its growth record. The objective of the road-show, which started on the 3rd of October, is to attract industrial and commercial investments to the Kingdom from a number of US cities, with an ultimate target of creating more rewarding jobs for Bahrainis. The Bahraini delegation, traveling to other parts of the United States also includes Abdulhameed Al Kooheji, Sameer Nass, Hamed AlZayani, Khadem Al Saeed, Khalaf Hujair, Mohammed Sajid, Paddy Gallagher, Samer Al-Jishi, and Isa Al-Shaiji.
