“Bahrain is always in favour of change and reform and the will to develop will continue. What has been achieved over the past years testifies to this policy,” he added pointing out that the way the kingdom dealt with those who wanted to undermine national unity and stability is not different from any advanced country.”Protecting human rights is a prime concern in the democratic Bahrain,” he affirmed urging international organizations to be fair when assessing the situation in the kingdom.”We are treating our people like any other democratic country, if not better, given the life privileges enjoyed by citizens, including subsidies and exemption of taxes.””Any human rights organization or delegation is welcome in Bahrain for there is nothing to hide,” HRH the Prime Minister said stressing the kingdom’s transparency and keenness on citizens’ welfare.”However, like any other country, the kingdom’s security and stability will remain a top priority,” he emphasized.
He also hailed the efforts of HRWF in promoting human rights pointing out that Bahrain has founded a democratic society organized by constitutional institutions which have been approved by nearly a popular consensus.
“Every constitutional institution is performing its duties according to its jurisdiction stipulated by the constitution which guarantees basic rights and freedoms,” HRH the Premier affirmed. “Reform and progress will continue unabated,” he pledged stressing that the two major royal initiatives, BICI and the National Consensus Dialogue, are a reflection of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s strong resolve to further promote the principles of transparency and justice.
