The Bahraini delegation to the UNESCO conference also requested UNESCO’s regional offices to play a major role in training and rehabilitation through organising workshops and training sessions in various fields, especially education and sustainable development. The recommendations were expressed by the Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi during a special forum held on the sidelines of the conference on UNESCO’s contributions to promoting a culture of peace and sustainable development.
Dr. Al Nuaimi also highlighted the kingdom’s efforts to link education to sustainable development through the initiatives of the National Project to Develop Education and Training, linking school output to the labour market, combating poverty, empowering women and people with special needs and other government projects aiming to upgrade Bahraini citizens’ living standards. The Kingdom’s proposals were praised by the Forum Chairman and the participants.
