Public Prosecution to investigate cases of death, torture

The Public Prosecution has set up a committee to investigate the cases relating to deaths, torture and inhumane treatment. The panel will be under the direct authority of Public Prosecutor Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al-Buainain.

The cases have already been referred to the Public Prosecution following the Interior Minister’s edict. “The Public Prosecution is an independent and impartial judicial authority dedicated to reveal the truth and scrutinizing complaints, taking into account the provisions of the law”, he said. He announced that the cases would be investigated-objectively and transparently and refer any person proven guilty to the court to face justice.
