The Ministry of Education warned IDP Education Australia, which is in charge of providing educational services for overseas students, for participating in an open fair to promote Australian universities that was held in Al Hekma International School.
The office was also accused of illegally publicizing in local newspapers and distributing commercial brochures without obtaining prior permission from the MoE.
These acts are in violation of article No. 8 of the ministerial resolution No. 2 for the year 1997.
The MoE is keen to ensure that any foreign universities fair should be organized according to the rules and that these universities are accredited to spare students from the possible trouble of enrolling at non-recognized higher education establishment.
