His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on Thursday hailed the important role of the Shaikh Ibrahim Centre for Culture and Research in enriching cultural and literary life in Bahrain.
He lauded the crucial contribution of the Muharraq-based institution in promoting research into Bahrain’s culture and history, reviving traditions and safeguarding the national identity.
He paid the tribute as he received at Al-Safriya Palace Culture Minister and Shaikh Ibrahim Centre for Culture and Research Board of Trustees’ Chairperson Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa. The minister introduced to HM the King Egyptian Constitutional Law Professor Yahia Al-Jamal and Ain Shams University literary criticism Professor and Arabic Language Academy Professor Salah Fadl, on visit to participate in the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the centre, among other guests who delivered lectures and conducted forums over the past decade. HM King Hamad praised Prof Al-Jamal and Prof Fadl for their prolific contribution in the fields of constitutional law and literature. He took pride in the selection of Manama to be the capital of Arab culture for 2012.
