Gulf Air, national carrier of the Kingdom f Bahrain, said that the official facebook page has been hacked by unknown attackers. It also stated that an official complaint with the Internet crime department was lodged and investigations were underway.
In a statement, the spokeswoman said: “Gulf Air can confirm that its Facebook page was hacked early this morning. The airline is working with Facebook to resolve the situation.”
“Gulf Air’s Facebook is purely a social media channel to interact with its customers and fans. As such, the airline does not support the acts of those, who have hacked the page to use it for political purposes.”
“Gulf Air representatives are investigating the matter and are working with law enforcement agents to prosecute those involved. A complaint has already been lodged with the with the internet crimes division at the Ministry of Interior.”
“In addition, a letter has also been sent to customers in our database informing them.”
Later on Monday Gulf Air announced that its facebook page have been restored.
