Gordon Smith BAPCO’s Chief Executive welcomed the group in Bapco Club, Awali where he gave a brief presentation about the discovery of oil in Bahrain and GCC as well as BAPCO’s strategies, programmes and future plans. The group had a tour inside the club where they learned about the different facilities and activities. Upon their visit to the refinery, the group was welcomed by Refining team in which they were introduced to different projects implemented, facilities and company’s main operations.
During their visit, the delegates also had the opportunity to meet with a number of company’s officials were they inquired about the operations conducted by Bapco. At the end of their visit, the delegates expressed their sincere admiration of the advanced technology implemented in both Bapco and the Kingdom of Bahrain and expressed their sincere thanks to Bapco Management for organising this visit.
As part of the Fellowship programme, the delegates had the opportunity to visit a number of companies and institutions and to be introduced to their nature of work and missions. They visited Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC), Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), U.S. Embassy in Manama, Ibn Khuldoon School, New Scientific Center, Polytechnic Bahrain, Tamkeen as well as a number of touristic and heritage areas such as Bahrain Fort , Bahrain National Museum, Al Areen Wild Life and Muharraq Market.
During their visits the delegates were accompanied by Latifa Mattar from EDB and Mohammed Bin Khalil Superintendent Special Assignments from Bapco and Mohammed Bahzad Public Relations Officer from Bapco.
