March 7, 2011
0

HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa
The Kingdom’s reform march, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, will continue un-wavered, said His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, asserting that HM’s Reform Project has gained the Kingdom innumerable achievements at all levels.

Chairing the Cabinet regular weekly meeting at the Gudaibiya Palace, HRH Premier also praised the genuine patriotic stances voiced by the Bahraini citizens during the National Unity Gatherings in which they reiterated their commitment to national unity, rejection of sectarianism and call for preserving national fundamentals and civilizational accomplishments.

In this context, HRH Premier expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Bahraini citizens for their support and loyalty to the national banners and the kingdom’s wise leadership and strong resolve to safeguard national interests.

“These sincere honourable stances deserve our appreciation and praise and will be recorded in our national history,” HRH Premier said.

HRH Prince Khalifa also instructed all ministers to double efforts in order to solve all issues related to the citizens such as housing, health, education, facilities and services, urging them to create more job opportunities and increase their field visits to government projects and services for the sake of assessing their quality in order to improve them if need be.

“The government’s development policies will continue upbeat as we are determined, more than ever, to achieve our sublime goal of upgrading the citizens’ standards of living by providing them with the means of decent life,” he noted.

During the same meeting, the Cabinet reiterated its support for the peaceful expression of opinion guaranteed by the kingdom’s Constitution, pointing, at the same, to the need to protect public interests and avoid harming the trade and economic sectors, which may have a negative impact on national security.

“Disrupting the citizens’ interests and causing damage to their daily life in different places is in disharmony with the call for appeasement and dialogue,” the ministers said, warning that any acts that may fuel sectarian feelings or dissention is rejected are massively rejected by the Bahraini people, religion and law, as well,”

The Cabinet also decided that nationality data written on the identity card of Bahraini nationals should be issued directly by the concerned sides in the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence and the Central Informatics Organisation in line with the government’s directives to promote e-services and ensure the card’s safety and longevity.

The Cabinet also approved a draft law amending some articles of Resolution no’ (1) for the year 2007 regarding the Identity Card -Law (46) for the year 2006’s by-law.

The Cabinet also endorsed the Tax Information Exchange Agreement signed between Bahrain and the Nordic Countries, including Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Faroe Islands, and Greenland, the Bilateral Airspace Services Agreement signed between Bahrain and Rwanda and the Treaty for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income signed between Bahrain and the Island of Mane.
