The Acting General Director of the Central Governorate Police has confirmed that a group of thugs involved in an illegal rally in Sitra (Al Quraya) on Sunday (September 9th) began rioting, vandalizing the area and blocking roads with rocks and large barriers.
The General Director said the perpetrators used homemade guns that shoot iron rods to attack the policemen who were involved in dispersing the group. The police regained control of the area using necessary, legal force. Two of the rioters were injured in the process and were referred to hospital for treatment.
The General Director said that the Public Prosecution was notified about the case.
