IAA President Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa hailed Bahraini technicians for overcoming the jamming problem in a record time.
The new system has been tested over two days and proved efficient, ensuring high-quality programmes are broadcast uninterrupted, especially during “peak jamming time”.
Bahrain bouquet of TV channels has been deliberately jammed for over ten days, prompting IAA officials to resort to cutting edge anti-jamming technologies to overcome the problem.
Shaikh Fawaz said that the Information Affairs Authority would take legal and administrative measures to protect its commercial, financial and technical rights.
The IAA legal team has already contacted the broadcasting service suppliers to identify the causes and source of jamming from the first day.
Shaikh Fawaz affirmed resolve to continue efforts to upgrade audio visual media infrastructure and promote human resources so as to project Bahrain’s civilized image and landmark achievements in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
Technical Affairs acting director Shaima’a Al-Hamed said that Bahrain bouquet had been jammed over 67 times since September6.
The IAA has also announced alternative frequencies for viewers to avert jamming and see the bouquet of channels uninterrupted on Nilesat (101/102), frequency (11678), Polarisation (Horizontal) and Symbol rate
