“We are planning to make this connection a daily flight by summer next year as part of our strategy to serve the Indian community in more efficient manners,” he added.

Al Busaidy lauded the role played by the Civil Aviation Affairs, Bahrain Airport Company, Bahrain Airport Services and other departments in helping Jet Airways for launch of Kochi flight.

Earlier, Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) welcomed the inaugural flight number 9W593 for Jet Airways to the Kingdom of Bahrain to conclude their new third weekly flight from Kochi to Bahrain in an event held at Bahrain International Airport.

‘The new milestone is a bold step and an indication of the airline’s optimism and trust toward the aviation business development in Bahrain,” BAC in a statement said.

The ceremony was attended by top officials from Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), Jet Airways, Airport and Government officials including Nirmal Kumar Chaudhary, First Secretary of the Indian Embassy in Bahrain, Abdulrahman Al Busaidy, Group Executive Officer of Jet Airways, John Iype, Chairman of the Indian Community Relief Fund in Bahrain and Hussain Rasool, Corporate Communications Manager of Bahrain Airport Company as well as a number of partners and media representatives.

Having emerged as among the leading airlines on the highly competitive Indo-Gulf sector in a relatively short period of time, we are confident that the new services will prove popular with our guests,” Sudheer Raghavan, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways, said.

In his welcome remarks at the landing of the Jet Airways inaugural flight at Bahrain International Airport, Hussain Rasool, Corporate Communications Manager at Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) praised the airline’s steady growth.
