In a speech delivered before the Arab Bureau of Education for Gulf countries held in Bahrain this morning, Al Zayani praised the development and growth of the educational march witnessed in the GCC states, and the honorable outcomes achieved, which were contained in the international report issued by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) under the title (Education for All). In addition, he also commended the comprehensive development achievements made in various fields.
Dr. Al Zayani reiterated that the Renaissance is not limited to preparing young people for the labor market only, but to the world of knowledge, and science, and based on providing interest with scientific knowledge, technology, mathematics, and stimulating creative thought. The renaissance should also embrace innovation and excellence, meet the requirements of the modern era and its accelerating developments in all fields, and promotes the values of tolerance, understanding and cultural dialogue with the people of the world for peace, progress and prosperity.
GCC Secretary-General valued the sincere efforts made by the Ministries of Education in the GCC States for the development of education. He called on organizing an expanded educational forum, where educators and specialists in the fields of economy, science, culture, media, sociology, and means of communication technology could participate. In addition, relevant civil society institutions could also participate to discuss the future of education in the GCC states.
