Batelco Bahrain CEO Abdulla Rashid, addressing at the opening Batelco CommTech for SME’s Seminar and Forum on Monday, said that the success of SMEs would continue to be a crucial for the economy.

“There are 41,000 micro enterprises in Bahrain which cater to the 73% of the national employment, making it a very crucial segment of the economy,” he said.

He said Batelco being Bahrain’s leading Business communications solutions provider was delighted with the success of Batelco CommTech, the major seminar and forum for SMEs held at the Gulf Hotel Convention Centre and attracted over 600 business owners and technical experts.

“Batelco has organised this event for first time with the help and support of many partners and we will continue to support the SMEs segment. Batelco is planning to open an Innovation Centre in Hamala as part of its strategy to keep abreast with the latest technology and services in telecom sector,” he added.

CommTech for SME’s included an exhibition where Batelco and its partners demonstrated a range of solutions. A number of educational seminars also took place, with an array of product/service experts presenting sessions on a range of topics including Social Media, Cloud solutions, Evolution of the networked Society, future of Broadband and securing your business data on low budget. A number of leading organisations partnered with Batelco for the key event including Huawei, Ericsson, e-Government Authority, Microsoft, Cisco, Avaya, Reload, S3Tel and Schneider.

While Batelco participates in a number of local and regional events as part of its global strategy, this was the first time that Batelco had undertaken to organise such an event for the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Batelco Bahrain CEO Rashid Abdulla said that he and his colleagues were delighted with the success of the event which was held to foster business development in the Kingdom of Bahrain by demonstrating a comprehensive range of products, services and solutions in one day, less than one roof.

“Attendees had the invaluable opportunity to view a number of demos and educational sessions as well as share and exchange knowledge with their industry peers. We have received some very positive feedback from attendees which encourages us to consider hosting similar events in the future,” he added.
