The Forum is held in cooperation with the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, the Supreme Council for Women, Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society and the UN Industrial Development Organization.
The Forum is also held with participation of businesswomen from various countries, non-governmental organizations, women societies, Chamber of Commerce from Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Comoros, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Libya, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan.
The Finance Secretary of the Chamber, the Acting Chief Executive Othman Sharif Al Rayes, called upon the businesswomen in the Kingdom of Bahrain and all concerned to participate in the forum to exchange views with businesswomen from Islamic countries to integrate in partnerships and investments and create a suitable and an ideal environment for strengthening the role of businesswomen.
Othman Sharif Al Rayes stressed the importance of benefiting from the forum through identifying the priorities which need support as well as exchange of experiences and knowledge, locating new markets, expands economic relations between the business community through commerce and investment to reinforce the role of women’s economic empowerment.
He also highlighted that involving women in the economic process in the member states of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) is considered an essential catalyst for the dynamism of social and economic development.
He also pointed out that involving women would enhance companies to be more competitive, as well as open up opportunities for businesswomen to help other women in the establishment of companies and small businesses or jobs or business training to enter the field of entrepreneurship and promote it.
Hosting the forum coincides with the celebrations of Bahraini Women’s Day for the fifth year in a row, where the Bahraini women achieved progress and development in the prosperous era, which is considered one of the outcomes of the project reform of HM King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa.
