His Royal Highness, Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, has affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to democracy and keenness to ensure that it serves the set goals and is a catalyst to optimize landmark national achievements.
He underlined that the Representatives Council, one of the fruitful outcomes and pillars of democracy, is the venue where all national issues are discussed because it represents the aspirations of the people, as well as their free will.
“We regret some media outlets’ failure to highlight the kingdom’s numerous democratic, political, economic and human rights strides and persistence in orchestrating distortion campaigns against it,” HRH said, expressing pride in the bold honorable stances voiced by columnists and journalists in order to defend the right and justice and lay bare the real intentions of those behind the heinous campaigns targeting Bahrain.
This came as HRH Premier received at the Gudaibiya Palace today, in the presence of the President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa, the Speaker of the Representatives Council Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, the Shura Council Chairman and some MPs, a number of senior officials.
During the audience, HRH Premier asserted that peoples of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) enjoy prosperity and progress in all fields thanks to the sound economic, social and political policies undertaken by their leaders and governments, reiterating the kingdom’s support for any initiatives or efforts aiming to upgrade cooperation between GCC countries and move to the complementarities phase which paves the way to GCC Union.
