“They are accused of rioting in Manama on last Friday (January18) in Manama following calls posted on the social media websites”, Capital Prosecutor Fahd Al-Bouainain said.
Around 100 rallied and sowed chaos in Manama Suq and sparked panic among people, prompting some traders to shut down their shops.
Six policemen sustained injuries as they were assuming their duties in maintaining security and order and protecting lives and properties.
Investigation revealed that one of the rioters who sowed chaos in Manama Suq was heavily inebriated.
The accused woman who had been arrested assaulted two policewomen bit their hand and destroyed a camera used by policemen to film the incidents.
Her lawyer submitted a medical report in English which showed her mental disturbance, which makes her irresponsible of her acts.
The Public Prosecution referred her to lower court decided whether to send her to a psychiatric hospital to assess her criminal responsibility.
The Public Prosecution also summoned witnesses and ordered an inquiry to identify the people who launched the cyber calls for rioting.
