GPIC board praises the trade union

The GPIC Board of Directors have praised the patriotic and committed stand of members of the Labour Union during the recent crisis witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain. They lauded their courageous position which was required by the current conditions with all the significant challenges involves. The workers’ keenness to continue working and attending to work in the Company has had a vital effect on the continuation of production in all the Company’s plants.

The statement was made during a meeting of the board that was concluded on Wednesday in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Following the meeting, the Board of Directors honoured the Chairman and members of the GPIC Workers Trade Union for their bold patriotic position.

The company’s board expressed its deep appreciation of all the Company’s employees for their commitment to the work shifts and their regular attendance to their duties during the extraordinary events witnessed by the Kingdom, with a score of 100% attendance.

This has enabled the Company to achieve an excellent performance level that has been praised by the Kingdom’s leadership, officials and citizens. The Company was also subject to praise during the radio and TV news bulletins. The Board members welcomed the recent improvement of conditions following the crisis thanks to the wisdom of the leadership and loyalty of the people.

Abdulrahman Jawahery, GPIC President said this honour was a reaffirmation of the close co-operation and relationship between the Workers Trade Union and the Company’s management that has always sought to remove all difficulties and obstacles and to create a suitable environment for the workers who have not hesitated to make efforts and sacrifices for the Company’s growth and success.

He praised the follow up and encouragement by Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Energy for giving a boost to industrial development in the Kingdom. Meanwhile, the GPIC Labour Union Chairman Hamad Al Thawadi confirmed that what the Trade Union has done was only its national duty dictated by the recent difficult conditions witnessed by the Kingdom.

It was imperative upon the Workers Trade Union with all its members to support the nation by regular attendance to their duties and ensuring the continuous flow of operations and productivity. He added the GPIC Trade Union has a well-known history over the years for cultivating feelings of good citizenship that advocates constructive efforts, which are the true principles of trade union activities. Al Thawadi further said the workers in these organisations do not spare any effort to maintain the gains achieved on the local, regional and international levels.

It should be noted that GPIC Workers Trade Union has been reputed for its patriotic stands by upholding the best interests of the country and Company above all considerations, something that was always welcomed and appreciated by the Company’s officials and Directors.

“This recognition demonstrates the existing co-operation and relationship between the Trade Union and the Company’s management that has always eliminated all difficulties and provided the appropriate environment for the workers to play their role and to make sacrifices for the good of the Company.”
