“This raised concern over the probability of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant being affected and will have an impact on environmental safety in the Arabian Gulf region,” he said.
He lauded cooperation between the GCC Interior Ministers to combat cells of espionage and terrorism and fight extremism which contravenes the Islamic precepts as well as the authentic Arab values and traditions.
He cited measures taken by the GCC Secretariat General to study the pitfalls of the earthquake and procedures taken by the GCC member states to weather them.
He extended heartfelt thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, for Bahrain’s hosting of the meeting, commending the GCC leaders’ care and support to the GCC march.
He congratulated the Bahraini leadership, government and people on the outstanding success in hosting Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2013, lauding the tremendous efforts exerted by the Interior Ministry to ensure security and safety of participants in the race as well as Bahrain’s guests who came to watch the mega sporting event.
He also congratulated Saudi Interior Minister Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on being appointed Chairman of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, wishing him every success amid the hard security circumstances witnessed by the Arab Nation.
He underlined the significance of the meeting amid fast-paced international events and security developments which require concerted and coordinated efforts to tackle them.
