The Minister of State for Information Affairs (MSIA) Sameera bin Rajab on Sunday said that the Government would remain committed to weed out terrorism from the society through the implementation of the anti-terrorism laws.

Responding to a question of scepticism in the society that despite the new laws there has been a spate of terrorist attacks, she said since the terrorism is something naive to this society the Government would remained committed to end this scourge from the society.

The spokesperson added that His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa during the cabinet session thanked the Interior Minister and all the security forces for their continuous efforts in preserving security and combating terror.

HRH the Prime Minister recommended continuing the implementation of the recommendations of the National Assembly in countering terrorism. The Cabinet also expressed its sincere gratitude and appreciation to the people of Bahrain for their stand against terrorism and their refusal to the calls of violence.

Rajab said the Cabinet referred a draft decree to establish the National Fund to support Youth to the relevant committee for further study. “This project aims to support youth movement in the Kingdom in all economic, social, cultural, educational areas and to urge youth to work hard to achieve the development of the Kingdom,” she said.

The Cabinet praised the responsible patriotism of Bahrain’s citizens in cities and villages throughout the nation, whose vigilance prevented and disrupted terrorists’ activities and their conspiracies aimed at spreading sectarianism, aggravating the situation and harming security and stability in the Kingdom. The Cabinet expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Bahraini people who have supported the measures taken by the government in combatting terrorism; and also praised the efforts of the security forces and security agencies, from the Minister to Ministry employees, for all their hard work, thanking them for preserving order and security and taking a firm stand in the face of terrorism to enhance security and stability in all areas of the Kingdom.

The Cabinet pointed out that the reality of what Bahrain has experienced is evidenced by the results of what happened on the ground — rather than the false allegations and exaggerated slogans – and that true objective evaluation comes from measuring actions and outcomes. Moreover, those who are involved in the instigation of violence and terror don’t have the credibility and capacity to speak about democracy, reforms and development. The Cabinet noted that HM the King’s reforms project will remain intact in Bahrain as opposed to the chaos and violence seeking to undermine the nation, and that issues can only be addressed by participation, building consensus and continuous reform through the constitutional institutions; not by breaking the law, using violence, threatening civil peace and infringing on national accomplishments and the rights of others.
