Bapco unveils state-of-the-art Isa Town service station

Bapco Isa TownBahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) completed the demolition and re-establishment of the Isa Town service station, in the context of its ambitious and ongoing commitment to develop its services according to the highest international safety standards in order to meet the needs of the citizens and residents throughout the Kingdom.

Bapco has completed the first phase of construction of the service station to serve the residents of Isa Town and neighboring areas visitors to provide them with the needs of fuel from gasoline and diesel.

It should be noted that the demolition work at the old station started on 1 July 2012 has been completely re-constructed on 30 July 2013, after the completion of 230 thousand man-hours without any lost time injury, reflecting the company’s commitment to standards and safety requirements in the context of its continued quest to establish a culture of occupational safety in all its operations. It is planned that the Isa Town Cooperative Consumer Society to resume its refueling operations at the station at the beginning of operation of the station.

The new station covers an area of 2,647 square meters while the shaded station area covers 618 square meters and sales building area of 208 square meters. The number of fuel tank capacity has been increased to 57 thousand liters per tank as the station contains six tanks with two layers, the outer layer covered with developed insulating material to prevent oxidation factors and increase the life of reservoirs. Sophisticated devices have been installed to monitor reservoirs and fuel level continuously. It is worth mentioning that the station containing five lines to refuel where the station was designed to accommodate heavy and light 20 vehicles to refuel at the same time as there are two pumps for each line. Each pump provides 3 types of fuel on both sides which increases the smoothness and speed of providing fuel for all station visitors, and contributes to reducing congestion and reduces the queuing during peak periods.

Bapco’s General Manager Marketing, Khalid Al Sabbagh, said that the design of the station aimed at fostering the use of the most of available space on the refueling facilities as the design covers an area of 1,821 square meters for the establishment of some supplementary services under a variety of future development projects in the station which may include the construction of a supermarket and a dedicated area for auto services, restaurant and a coffee shop, bank and pharmacy, which works to increase the profitability of the station by providing complementary or non-oil services.

“There is no doubt that the modernisation of the current station reflects Bapco’s continued commitment to the application of modern technologies in the construction of service stations as well as the confirmation of the status of Bapco in supporting the national economy and foster the sustainable development efforts and the renaissance movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

Al Sabbagh concluded by expressing his thanks and appreciations to the Marketing Division team at Bapco, praising their energetic efforts in order to complete the construction work of the station and the completion of the project in a record time according to the highest international standards in the context of Bapco’s strategy which aims to develop its services to support and sustain the national economy and contribute effectively to the prosperity of the Bahraini society according to the desired goals.
