“India offers the best choice to Bahraini software importers, in terms of quality and competitiveness,” India’s Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council executive director D K Sareen told a select group of journalists during his visit to Manama.
“I am here to invite Bahraini companies to attend India IT Show 2013 to start a new page in Bahrain-India software business relationship,” Sareen, said, adding that Bahrain was an untapped market for India, one of the three largest information technology service providers in the world.
Dr Sareen’s visit was part of a tour to introduce the upcoming India IT Show 2013.
“The event will be a closed door business networking event between more than 400 IT services global buyers from 75 countries and 150 Indian IT companies,” he explained.
“We are in talks with Bahraini companies and are hoping that some of them will participate in the show. It will offer them an avenue of sourcing the best of total IT solutions for the growth of their enterprise,” he added.
The council is a trade promotion organisation facilitating India’s electronics and information technology exports to global markets.
“Those businesses that don’t take advantage of software and applications that leverage these enablers risk losing to competitors who do,” he added.
India’s remarkable success in the software industry is well-documented. Software accounts for more than 18 per cent of total Indian exports.
Technical skills and cost competency have contributed to the competitive position of the Indian software industry,” he noted.
According to Sareen, the council will also participate in the first-ever Bahrain-India Economic Partnership Conference and Exhibition to be held from October 22 to 24 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Bahrain-India Exhibition and Conference director Roy Mathew, who was also present during the briefing, said the expo aims at promoting trade and investment opportunities between India and Bahrain.
