“This is the sixth time that we have achieved the 90 day target since the introduction of the RRC in 2009,” Bapco’s Deputy Chief Executive for Refining and Marketing, and Chairman of Environment, Health and Safety EHS Committee, Ebrahim Talib, said.
“This milestone could have only been achieved with the great team effort of all employees at all workplaces of the company”, he added. “Within the coming weeks we, hopefully, will achieve three million employee hours without a lost time injury for Bapco and contractor personnel,” he added.
“It should not be forgotten that safety and reliability go hand in hand at Bapco and our challenge now is to sustain current performance and ensure that unplanned shutdowns are mitigated through diligent application of our routine work duties and predictive and preventative maintenance activities. Our objective is to motivate employees towards reliable operation of the refinery, to raise the level of visibility of refinery performance. Bapco continues to strive for excellence through implementing work habits and business processes based on a robust safety and reliability culture.”
