Prince Andrew gets briefing on Injaz Bahrain

As part of his current visit to Kingdom of Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, the Duke of York was briefed on various programmes related to INJAZ Bahrain during his visit to Al-Bayan School in Bahrain, where he met with the winner students, ranking first place at INJAZ Al-Arab’s 7th annual Young Entrepreneurs 2013 Regional Competition held in Kuwait last December.

His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, a strong advocate for entrepreneurship and youth empowerment, praised the programmes offered by INJAZ Bahrain through a network of volunteers in the country’s public and private schools and universities,. The programmes focus on promoting entrepreneurship, sound work-readiness skills, and financial acumen in young Bahrainis.

His Royal Highness was received at AlBayan School by Her Highness INJAZ Bahrain Executive Director Sheikha Hessa bint Khlaifa Al Khalifa, His Excellency The Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Iain Lindsay, Dr. Shaikha May Al Otaibi, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at Al-Bayan School, Dr. Peter Nanos, Al Bayan School Director General, INJAZ Bahrain Board members and other senior officials.

His Royal Highness Prince Andrew expressed his pleasure in meeting young Bahraini entrepreneurs.

The event started with a speech by Dr. Shaikha May Al Otaibi, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at Al-Bayan School who welcomed Prince Andrew and expressed her pleasure in receiving His Royal Highness Prince Andrew and welcomed His Royal Highness’ interest in meeting AlBayan School winning team.

In her speech Sheikha Hessa Bint Khalifa AlKhalifa, Executive Director expressed gratitude to Prince Andrew the Duke of York for his support of the entrepreneurship movement among youth, and dedicating time to get acquainted with INJAZ Bahrain’s programmes and meet the innovators of tomorrow. Shaikha Hessa also stressed that INJAZ Bahrain is committed to its approach of supporting students and empowering them with the knowledge and skills required to succeed.

The event also included a presentation delivered by Al Bayan School winning team featuring their company “MyTray” and its products. In addition, the team presented details on the current financial profile of the company and the entrepreneurial skills they have gained from as a result of participating in INJAZ Bahrain “Company” programme.

The project of the winning team from Al-Bayan School is called MyTray, and consisted of a multi-purpose easy-to-carry bag for children from 4 to 10 years old. According to its intended use, the bag can serve as a table, desk, or pillow.

Young entrepreneurs who took part in the INJAZ Bahrain as volunteers to deliver the organization’s programs also contributed to the event program by delivering a speech in which their representative gave a background on the various support extended to them by the Government of Bahrain and other entities as well as the role of Bahraini entrepreneurs help in the advancement of the economy and job creation.

Prince Andrew engaged with members of AlBayan School winning team and the young entrepreneurs, exchanging conversations on various subjects related to their entrepreneurial experience, achievements and challenges.
